Site Investigation Assessments, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio, and Illinois
This project included 90 task orders for soil, sediment, surface water, groundwater, elutriate, and effluent investigation of sites located in Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio, and Illinois. Our professionals performed the following tasks: delineation of contamination that was identified during earlier investigations; program management; project management; subcontractor selection; site health and safety; oversight of geoprobe and sediment sampling activities; mudrotary drilling; installation of temporary monitoring wells; data management, evaluation, and validation; surveying; mapping; contaminant and groundwater modeling; report preparation.
Environmental Compliance Assessments (ECAs), USDA-FS Region 8, Atlanta, GA
AEM Group conducted Environmental Compliance Audits (ECAs) for three National Forests (NFs): Daniel Boone National Forest, Kentucky; Cherokee National Forest, Tennessee; and the National Forests of Florida.
The ECAs were designed to meet the requirements of the Forest Service Management Review System (FSM 1410), Executive Order 13423 Section 3, and the key federal environmental programs: Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), and more.
Wetland Delineations for Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge, Federal Highway Administration, North Carolina
AEM Group completed wetland delineations, functional and impact assessments, and created a permit package for a road construction project on the Alligator River Island Wildlife Refuge, North Carolina. Various tasks included: the mapping of all wetlands and waters of the US subject to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act; the collection and management of GIS geospatial data, the assessment of wetland functions and values; the creation of an impact assessment; and the drafting of a permit package based on the expected impacts to the wetlands.
